Beyond fibre, cotton generates valuable by-products such as cottonseed oil and cottonseed cake, while the textile value chain creates employment across farming, ginning, spinning, weaving and garment production.

 

 For India, cotton is particularly significant for farm incomes, the textile industry and export competitiveness, making it an important link between agriculture and manufacturing. 🌱
